We have significant HL7 interface experience and have completed the following interfaces:

GE Muse - using HL7 messaging, GE Muse ECG tracings for ECGs, Exercise Tests and Holter Monitors can be viewed from within Cardiobase.
GE Prucka MacLab Interface completed in April 2006.
GE Web Viewer This interface will load a patient’s images stored in the GE system from Cardiobase. Completed in May 2006

hTrak - Direct hTrak/Cardiobase interface developed March 2006

iSoft - A number of interfaces with iSoft PAS systems have been completed or are in final stages of completion. Clients sites include Derby Hospitals Foundation Trust England, Singleton Hospital NHS Trust Wales and Dunedin Hospital New Zealand. 

Medcon UK Web Viewer interface completed in May 2006. This interface will load a patient’s images stored in the Medcon system from Cardiobase.

Medilink Interface with Southern Health’s Medilink system for exchange of patient billing information

Medtrak - Interface for Austin Hospital for export of completed test and procedure reports.

Philips Xcelera interface for Monash Medical Centre

Prosolv - a pre-defined Echo text file is converted to HL7 and then imported into Cardiobase fields.
A direct HL7 interface between the two systems has just been developed for St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Reynolds - At Singleton Hospital in Wales Ambulatory ECG reports entered in their Reynolds system cross automatically over to Cardiobase, saving staff considerable time.

St Jude Medical - Pacecare can now recieve all data collected by the St Jude Medical Merlin system. Interfaces with other pacemaker systems will follow in due course.

Topas - Western Australian state patient system for Sir Charles Gairdner and Royal Perth Hospitals

Witt - using HL7, data from the cardiac catheter laboratory is automatically transferred into Cardiobase at the end of the case. If a patient record does not exist then one is created. Any anomalies are reported by e-mail to designated personal.

Hospital Master Index/Patient Administration System demographic download interfaces have been developed for the following client sites using HL7 or other methods:

  • Singleton Hospital, Swansea, Wales (ODBC initially but being replaced with the iSoft interface)
  • Townsville Hospital’s HBCIS PAS interface
  • Trent region PAS interface used at Derby Hospitals Foundation NHS Trust
  • Trent region PAS interface - updated August 2006 to include automatic updates and GP details
  • University Hospital of Wales PMS interface

  • Derby Hospitals Foundation Trust - Export of completed reports to local GP practices
  • Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - Export of completed echo reports to the Trust’s Results server
